2023 Director’s Community Leadership Award Recipient

The San Diego Division honors Monarch School Project, the nation’s only K through 12 public school for students experiencing homelessness. Monarch is a trauma-informed and strength-based community for students to overcome the upheaval of homelessness. Nearly 300 students attend Monarch each day and receive a holistic education designed to meet their academic, social, emotional, and life skill needs. Accepting on behalf of the organization is Afira Arrastia DeVries (Ah-FEER-Ah Ah-rah-stee-uh Duh-Vrees).
