Washington Field Office – José Andrés Puerta
2019 Director’s Community Leadership Award Recipient
FBI Washington Field Office honors José Andrés Puerta. The chef is famous for his cooking and restaurants, but he is beloved because of his generosity. When the federal government closed briefly in early 2019, Andres and the World Central Kitchen surged to meet the needs of federal workers in Washington, D.C., and elsewhere. Andres provided packaged food, hot and cold meals, and services from other community partners.
