FBI Mobile honors the Dr. Rusty J. Sowell, leader of the Providence Baptist Church. Dr. Sowell and his congregation provided the Beauregard community of Alabama a safe place to shelter during a tornado last year. The church opened its community space as temporary lodging for the displaced and provided food, support, and a place for families to reunite.
FBI Director Recognizes Distinguished Community Leaders
Director Christopher Wray recognized the recipients of the 2019 Director’s Community Leadership Award. These leaders, selected by their area FBI field office, have demonstrated outstanding contributions to their local communities through service. The FBI is grateful for the work of each of these individuals and organizations on behalf of their communities.
