Minneapolis – African American Leadership Council
2019 Director’s Community Leadership Award Recipient
FBI Minneapolis honors the African American Leadership Council (AALC), established in 1997 to work on issues that directly affect African American citizens. The AALC is an original member of the FBI’s Community Relations Awareness Group and hosted a meeting last year to provide an overview of the issues transgender people face, especially the disproportionate rates of violence against transgender people of color.
FBI Director Recognizes Distinguished Community Leaders
Director Christopher Wray recognized the recipients of the 2019 Director’s Community Leadership Award. These leaders, selected by their area FBI field office, have demonstrated outstanding contributions to their local communities through service. The FBI is grateful for the work of each of these individuals and organizations on behalf of their communities.
