Anchorage – Julie Kitka
2019 Director’s Community Leadership Award Recipient
FBI Anchorage honors Julie Kitka, president of the Alaska Federation of Natives. Ms. Kitka helped improve the relationship between the FBI and the Native Alaskan community by organizing several conferences. She also assisted with an FBI-led project on missing persons in the state—many of whom are Alaska natives—and helped federal authorities better understand crime prevention in rural communities.
FBI Director Recognizes Distinguished Community Leaders
Director Christopher Wray recognized the recipients of the 2019 Director’s Community Leadership Award. These leaders, selected by their area FBI field office, have demonstrated outstanding contributions to their local communities through service. The FBI is grateful for the work of each of these individuals and organizations on behalf of their communities.
