The Tampa Division honors Freddy Barton. He is perhaps best known for co-creating “Suit Up and Show Up,” an empowerment conference for young men. The program pairs community leaders as mentors for a day to at-risk youth. The mentors teach young men how to dress for success and prepare for life. Barton is involved in numerous other community programs and organizations.
FBI Director Recognizes Distinguished Community Leaders
In a ceremony at FBI Headquarters on May 3, 2019, Director Christopher Wray recognized the recipients of the 2018 Director’s Community Leadership Award. These leaders, selected by their area FBI field office, have demonstrated outstanding contributions to their local communities through service. The FBI is grateful for the work of each of these individuals and organizations on behalf of their communities.
