The Pittsburgh Division honors Wasiullah Mohamed. A volunteer advocate for racial and social justice in the Pittsburgh region, Mohamed was instrumental in rallying the local Muslim community after the shooting at the Tree of Life synagogue. Mohamed’s civic engagement is focused on changing the systemic oppression of Muslims and minority communities through policy, media, legislation, and other means.

FBI Director Recognizes Distinguished Community Leaders


In a ceremony at FBI Headquarters on May 3, 2019, Director Christopher Wray recognized the recipients of the 2018 Director’s Community Leadership Award. These leaders, selected by their area FBI field office, have demonstrated outstanding contributions to their local communities through service. The FBI is grateful for the work of each of these individuals and organizations on behalf of their communities.
