2018 Director’s Community Leadership Award Recipient

The Oklahoma City Division honors Aliye Shimi. She is a member of the Tulsa Commission on Community Policing and sits on the city’s Community Advisors Oversight Committee. Shimi regularly provides Muslim cultural competency training to Tulsa-area law enforcement officers and is the executive director of the Interfaith Tulsa Metropolitan Ministry. The ministry promotes religious understanding, cooperation, and freedom.
FBI Director Recognizes Distinguished Community Leaders
In a ceremony at FBI Headquarters on May 3, 2019, Director Christopher Wray recognized the recipients of the 2018 Director’s Community Leadership Award. These leaders, selected by their area FBI field office, have demonstrated outstanding contributions to their local communities through service. The FBI is grateful for the work of each of these individuals and organizations on behalf of their communities.
