2017 Director’s Community Leadership Award Recipient

FBI Director Christopher Wray presents Newark Division recipient Eyal Shapira with the Director’s Community Leadership Award (DCLA) at a ceremony at FBI Headquarters on April 20, 2018.

The Newark Division honors Eyal Shapira. Mr. Shapira established a training facility for aspiring Navy SEALs called Pugzee Farm, where he constructed a museum to commemorate the tragic events of September 11, 2001, and erected a memorial to the Navy SEALs and other U.S. service members killed in Afghanistan. Mr. Shapira has long been a supporter of the Navy SEAL Gold Star Mothers.

FBI Director Recognizes Distinguished Community Leaders

In a ceremony at FBI Headquarters on April 20, 2018, Director Christopher Wray recognized the recipients of the 2017 Director’s Community Leadership Award. These leaders, selected by their area FBI field office, have demonstrated outstanding contributions to their local communities through service. The FBI is grateful for the work of each of these individuals and organizations on behalf of their communities.
