The following is issued in response to inquiries following the detention hearing for Omar Faraj Saeed Al Hardan, held in the United States District Court in the Southern District of Texas on Wednesday, January 13, 2016:

“While possible future targets were discussed by the defendant during the course of the investigation, there was never any active or planned plot targeting a specific location in Houston or elsewhere. There is no specific or credible information to indicate a threat to the Houston area at this time.”
