The FBI Violent Crime Task Force is releasing video of an armed Houston bank robber who robbed a Woodforest National Bank inside a Walmart store while wearing a black trench coat. The robber threatened tellers with a handgun then stuffed the stolen cash inside the right pocket of the trench coat before getting away. Crime Stoppers of Houston is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to the identity and arrest of the Trench Coat Bandit.

The robbery happened at 9:44 a.m. at the Woodforest National Bank and Walmart located at 9598 Rowlett Road in Houston, Texas on Monday. The man entered the bank and asked to make a withdrawal. When the teller handed him a withdrawal slip the bank robber lifted his shirt and exposed a black handgun tucked inside his waistband. In fear of his life, the teller gave the robber some cash. The robber stuffed the cash inside the right pocket of his trench coat before exiting the bank. He got away in a dark colored, older model Dodge Charger, possibly with temporary tags. No one was physically hurt during the robbery. The Trench Coat Bandit is described as a white male, about 5’7” to 5’10” tall, 170 to 190 pounds, with a scruffy black and gray beard, and tattoos on the top of both hands. He wore light blue jeans, a white shirt, a black trench coat, and gray shoes with white soles. He also wore a black beanie hat and sporty sunglasses. He was last seen driving a dark-colored, older model Dodge Charger.
