Jefferson County Man Sentenced for Nederland Bank Robbery

BEAUMONT, TX—A 32-year-old Nederland, Texas man has been sentenced to federal prison for robbing a bank in the Eastern District of Texas, announced U.S. Attorney John M. Bales today.

Christopher Levi Woodcock pleaded guilty on September 27, 2012, to bank robbery and was sentenced to 43 months in federal prison on January 24, 2013, by U.S. District Judge Ron Clark. Woodcock was also ordered to pay restitution in the amount of $1,971.00.

According to information presented in court, on January 13, 2012, Woodcock entered Community Bank at 2008 Hwy 365 in Nederland and presented a note demanding money from a teller. Fingerprint analysis of the demand note and community tipsters led to the arrest of Woodcock.

This case was investigated by the FBI and the Nederland Police Department and prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney John Craft.
