Billboard Campaign Launched to Help Catch “Bad Wig Bandit”

The FBI Bank Robbery Task Force is partnering with Clear Channel Outdoor to broadcast a wanted digital billboard advertising a Crime Stoppers reward and featuring a picture of the “Bad Wig Bandit.” We are hoping the visibility will lead to a tip which will help identify the suspect.

The “Bad Wig Bandit” is suspected in at least two recent Houston-area bank robberies. The first occurred at the Prosperity Bank, address 4065 Bellaire Boulevard in Houston, Texas, on 01/23/2012. The latest occurred at the Amegy Bank, address 2105 Taylor Street in Houston, Texas. The “Bad Wig Bandit” displayed a pistol during each robbery, but no one was physically hurt.

The “Bad Wig Bandit” is described as a bank robber is described as a white or Asian male, mid-30s, 5’7” tall, 185-215, with a husky build and a medium complexion.

Clear Channel Outdoor Digital Billboards is donating the space as a public service to the community. The billboards are live beginning today in the Houston area.
