The FBI Houston Bank Robbery Task Force is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a man who robbed an area bank yesterday, taking an employee hostage during the process.

At approximately 2:45 p.m. on Tuesday, October 6, the robber entered the Chase Bank located at 14565 Memorial Drive in Houston. He sat down in the area designated for those wishing to speak with a bank representative. When approached by a female employee, he grabbed her by the arm, pulled out a semi-automatic handgun, and walked her to the teller counter. The robber demanded cash, and the tellers, fearing for their lives and the safety of their fellow employee, complied with his demands. He placed the cash into a paper bag bearing a Starbuck’s logo, and fled the area on a bicycle. The bicycle was recovered by investigators near the scene.

Witnesses describe the robber as a black male, 25-35 years old, 5’10”-6’02” tall, slender build, with a light complexion and light colored eyes. He was wearing a bright orange tee shirt and orange baseball cap with light colored jeans.

Crime Stoppers is offering up to $5,000 for information leading to the charging and arrest of this robber or any felony suspect. If you have information about this case, please call the Crime Stoppers Tipline at 713-222-TIPS (8477).
