Terrorism Report - 1996
The FBI prevented five acts of terrorism in 1996 including attacks on law enforcement officials, planned bombings of federal buildings, and plots to destroy US infrastructure.

In 1997, the FBI recorded two incidents and two suspected acts of terrorism. Twenty-one potential acts of terrorism were prevented. This was the highest number recorded since 1985.

Approximately 14,000 terrorist attacks occurred in various countries during 2007, resulting in over 22,000 deaths. This was 1,800 more than 2006, a 9 percent increase.
Terrorism Report - 2008
Approximately 11,800 terrorist attacks against noncombatants occurred in various countries during 2008, resulting in over 54,000 deaths, injuries, and kidnappings.
