Paul Abbate, Special Agent in Charge of the FBI Detroit Field Office, and Robert M. Grubbs, U.S. Marshal for the Eastern District of Michigan, announced the U.S. Marshals Service (USMS) is offering an additional $15,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the individuals responsible for the March 5, 2015, shooting of U.S. District Court Judge, Terrence G. Berg.

The FBI offered a $25,000 reward on March 6, 2015, and the ATF offered a $10,000 reward on March 12, 2015. The USMS’s additional offer of $15,000 establishes a combined reward of $50,000.

On Thursday, March 5, 2015, at approximately 9:10 p.m., Judge Berg was outside his residence in Detroit when he was approached by two men. One of the men brandished a firearm and demanded to go inside Judge Berg’s home. When he refused, the man shot Judge Berg in his knee. The two suspects fled the scene in a vehicle described by witnesses as a dark-colored sedan. The suspects are described as black males, of average build, and approximately 18-25 years old.

The investigation is being conducted by the FBI Violent Crime Task Force, in conjunction with the U.S. Marshals Service; the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives; and the Detroit Police Department.
