Lansing Woman Sentenced to 27 Months for Embezzlement

GRAND RAPIDS, MI—U.S. Attorney Donald A. Davis announced today that Marcie Graham, 30,of Lansing, was sentenced to 27 months in prison for embezzling $236,000 from Case Credit Union. She committed the offense while employed as an assistant branch manager at this credit union between December 2008 and October 2010. Case Credit Union has several branches in the Lansing, Michigan area.

After hearing mitigation arguments from the defense and considering a victim statement from Case Credit Union, presiding Judge Janet T. Neff imposed the prison term, as well as a three-year term of court supervision to follow her release from prison. Graham was also ordered to pay restitution. Judge Neff permitted Graham to surrender herself to the Federal Bureau of Prisons when told to do so.

This case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Timothy P. VerHey.
