MARQUETTE, MI—Thomas Andrew Censke, 43, of Marquette, Michigan, was convicted of four counts of mailing threatening communications after a three-day jury trial, U.S. Attorney Donald A. The jury found that Censke mailed letters from jail and prison between 2003 and 2008 to local attorneys, a police detective, and a county prosecutor threatening to kill the attorneys, the detective, and a county clerk. Censke faces up to five years in prison and a $250,000 fine on each count. Sentencing is scheduled for October 21, 2009 before Senior U.S. District Judge R. Allan Edgar.

U.S. Attorney Davis commended the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Michigan State Police, and the Marquette Police Department for their work in this case. This case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorneys Paul D. Lochner and Maarten Vermaat.
