The three suspects in the October 29 robbery of the Wells Fargo Bank in Fort Morgan have been arraigned on felony robbery charges and are being held on bond.

One of the suspects is believed to have been involved in the robbery of a Denver bank just three days earlier. The Fort Morgan Police Department continues to work with the FBI on the robbery investigations.

The three suspects—Anthony Edward Gutierrez, 51, of Brush; Lisa Gay Gleason, 55, of Brush; and Arthur William Wilson, 24, of Post Falls, Idaho—all face charges of robbery, a Class 4 felony.

Wilson’s bond was set at $250,000, while the bonds for Gutierrez and Gleason are $25,000 each. All three suspects are being held at the Morgan County Detention Center.

Surveillance photos believed to be of Wilson were on a Crime Alert flier distributed by Metro Denver Crime Stoppers last week. According to the flier, the man pictured robbed the First Bank at 1200 17th St. in Denver at about 3:45 p.m. on Oct. 26. The suspect handed the bank teller a note, demanded money and fled on foot, according to the flier. The Fort Morgan bank robbery unfolded in a similar manner at almost exactly the same time of day, according to police. The robber obtained a substantial amount of cash in that robbery but was apprehended by FMPD officers just outside the bank, along with the other two suspects. All the money taken was recovered. No weapons were used in the Fort Morgan robbery and none were found in the suspects’ vehicle. No one was injured in the robbery, which took place while more than a dozen bank staff and customers were inside the bank. Wilson has a criminal history including robbery, theft and controlled substance charges, according to police. At the time of the Fort Morgan robbery he had an active warrant from the Idaho Department of Corrections for parole violation. Gutierrez has a past criminal history that includes charges of assault/domestic violence, violation of a protection order, burglary, criminal mischief and theft. Gleason has no prior criminal record, police said. Because Wilson is believed to have been involved with the earlier bank robbery in Denver, the FMPD is working with the FBI to determine whether the Fort Morgan robbery will be prosecuted locally or at the federal level in conjunction with charges related to other crimes.
