Robbery of Bank of the West Branch in Denver

The Denver Police Department and FBI Rocky Mountain Safe Streets Task Force (RMSSTF) responded to a bank robbery which occurred on Monday, August 30, 2010, at approximately 12:20 p.m. at the Bank of the West, 621 17th Street, Denver, Colorado.

The suspect is described as a white male in his 40s, 5’8” to 5’10” tall, approximately 170 pounds, medium build, with reddish hair.

The suspect presented a demand note and demanded money.

Bank robbery is punishable by a 20-year prison sentence for each offense and increases if a dangerous weapon is used in the commission of the crime.

The FBI continues to provide financial institutions with the best practices for security to make them less vulnerable to robberies.
