Human Remains Found in Vail Pass Area

As part of an ongoing investigation related to Scott Kimball, the FBI, Eagle County Sheriff's Office, Lafayette Police Department, Summit County Sheriff's Office, and United States Forest Service recovered human remains in a remote area of Vail Pass on Monday, June 29, 2009. The positive identification of the remains is pending DNA testing. The investigation leading to the location of the recovery and details surrounding the information are part of an ongoing investigation by the FBI, Lafayette Police Department, and Boulder District Attorney's Office. No additional information will be released at this time.
