Instruction Guide

“Don’t Be a Puppet: Pull Back the Curtain on Violent Extremism” Website.

Website Objective

Free the puppet and earn an FBI certificate.

Objectives Overview

To free the puppet, you must complete all of the objectives within each of the five numbered sections on the main section screen.

Clicking a section (for example, “What is Violent Extremism”) will take you to the objectives page.

Each section will contain several “white box” objectives.

Click each of the white box objectives, follow the instructions, and complete the tasks that appear.

Completing an objective’s tasks will free a string on the puppet.

When an objective’s tasks are complete, click the “Don’t Be a Puppet” box underneath the puppet.

Then click the “Free the Puppet” box to go back to the main section screen to complete the other objectives.

When the white box objective’s tasks are complete, the box turns white.

When all of the white box objectives within a section are complete, the puppet will be freed, and all of the boxes will be white.

Click the “Don’t Be a Puppet” link in the upper left corner of the page to return to the main section screen. When a section has been completed, the section box will turn white on the main section screen.

After completing all sections and reviewing a final page—Where to Get Help—you will be able to print and sign an official FBI certificate of completion.
