FBI Washington Field Office Releases New Videos of Suspects in Violent Assaults on Federal Officers at U.S. Capitol, Seeks Public’s Help in Identifying Them

Update: Both AFO #106 and AFO #134 have been arrested.

The FBI’s Washington Field Office has released two new videos of suspects in violent assaults on federal officers during the riots at the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021, and is seeking the public’s help to identify them. The two new videos depict suspects #106 and #134, who are seen in the new videos forcefully attacking law enforcement officers.

In the new videos, suspect #106 is shown attempting to rip off an officer’s gas mask, then picking up a tactical baton and hitting officers with it. Suspect #134 is seen punching officers while wearing gloves with metal knuckles.

Investigating the violent assaults on law enforcement officers committed during the January 6 attack on the Capitol has been a priority for the FBI. With the assistance of hundreds of thousands of tips from the American people, the FBI has arrested more than 425 individuals who took part in the Capitol riots. Of those, nearly 90 were arrested for assaulting law enforcement officers. However, some of the most violent offenders have yet to be identified, including two unidentified individuals seen assaulting officers in the video footage we are releasing today.

“The American people answered the call when we asked for their help two months ago in identifying 10 individuals captured on video in some of the most violent attacks on officers who were protecting the U.S. Capitol on January 6,” said Steven M. D’Antuono, assistant director in charge (ADIC) of the FBI’s Washington Field Office. “As difficult as it is to report family, friends, and co-workers, the American public continues to provide vital assistance to the FBI and our partners in this investigation.”

"We are grateful for the tips we have received,” ADIC D’Antuono said. “But our work is not done. Today, we are releasing two additional videos of violent assaults on officers and again asking for the public’s help to identify the perpetrators.”

If you have any information on the individuals depicted in the videos or the photo gallery, please call 1-800-CALL-FBI or submit a tip online at tips.fbi.gov. Please reference the AFO number when calling or submitting information online. To view photos of additional individuals the FBI is seeking to identify, visit fbi.gov/capitolviolence.

Two suspects in the original 10 videos have been arrested because of valuable assistance from the public. They are Reed Christensen (AFO #191) and Jonathan Munafo (AFO #170). More information on those arrested and charged is available at the Department of Justice’s Capitol Breach Cases site.
