Ryan later made his way toward the Capitol building, arriving among a large crowd of rioters near the Lower West Terrace on U.S. Capitol grounds at approximately 2:00 p.m.

Shortly after, a group of Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) officers attempted to make their way through the crowd of rioters but were met with physical resistance and verbal taunts. Body-worn camera footage taken from various MPD officers depicts Ryan allegedly physically confronting and assaulting multiple MPD officers in this area.
