FBI Seeking Robert Deshawn Grott

Updated February 10, 2016: Robert DeShawn Grott, 29, is now in custody. On February 9, 2016, he turned himself in to law enforcement in the Los Angeles area.


The FBI is looking for Robert Deshawn Grott, 29, who may currently be in the Los Angeles area. Grott is wanted on a Washington state arrest warrant for first-degree murder. He is also wanted on a federal arrest warrant for unlawful flight to avoid prosecution (UFAP) filed in United States District Court in Washington State.

Grott is one of two subjects that Tacoma Police Department believes are involved in a February 1, 2016 homicide in the Tacoma area. The other subject—Robert Grott’s brother Rashaad Dominique Grott, 22—is in custody. On February 3, 2016, Rashaad Grott turned himself in to authorities in Los Angeles. Rashaad Grott admitted to driving with Robert Grott to Los Angeles from Tacoma, Washington. The FBI has confirmed that Robert Grott spent the night in a downtown Los Angeles-area hotel on February 2, 2016.

Robert Grott is considered armed and dangerous. The gun used in the homicide has not been recovered. Anyone with information as to the identity or whereabouts of this fugitive should refrain from approaching him and is urged to contact law enforcement immediately.
