Arrest of Fugitive Jan Rivera-Ledoux, Involved in the Death of San Juan Municipal Police Officer Edwin Roman-Acevedo

Special Agent in Charge Carlos Cases of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) San Juan Division announced the arrest of Jan Rivera-Ledoux. On December 1, 2014, Jan Rivera-Ledoux was arrested by the FBI in connection with the robbery of Caney Pharmacy in Trujillo Alto, Puerto Rico on November 25, 2014, which resulted in the death of San Juan Municipal Police Officer Edwin Roman-Acevedo.

The prompt arrest of Rivera-Ledoux is the result of a joint effort between the FBI and the following law enforcement agencies: Police of Puerto Rico, United States Marshals Service, and the San Juan Municipal Police.

The public is reminded that a criminal complaint contains only charges and is not evidence of guilt. A defendant is presumed to be innocent until and unless proven guilty. The U.S. government has the burden of proving guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
