Federal Charges for Transportation of a Minor with Intent to Engage in Sexual Activity
SAN JUAN, PR—Special Agent in Charge Douglas A. Leff of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), San Juan Field Office, announced the arrest of JUAN LUIS ROSARIO-RIVERA.
On March 8, 2019, FBI agents from the FBI East Resident Agency arrested JUAN LUIS ROSARIO-RIVERA in Las Piedras, Puerto Rico, pursuant to a criminal complaint charging him with transportation of minor with intent to engage in sexual activity, in violation of Title 18, United States Code, Section 2423(a).
If convicted, ROSARIO-RIVERA could be imprisoned not less than 10 years up to life. Assistant United States Attorney (AUSA) Nicholas Cannon is in charge of the prosecution of ROSARIO-RIVERA.
The FBI San Juan Child Exploitation Human Trafficking Task Force with the assistance of the HSI-ICE Puerto Rico Crimes Against Children Task Force are actively investigating this and all cases involving crimes against children in Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
