Federal Charges for Transfer of Obscene Matter to a Minor

SAN JUAN, PR—Special Agent in Charge Douglas A. Leff of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), San Juan Field Office, announced the arrest of LUIS ALBERTO FALCON-ORTIZ.

On March 06, 2019, FBI agents arrested under a criminal complaint LUIS ALBERTO FALCON-ORTIZ, age 34, from Comerio, Puerto Rico, charging him with transferring obscene material to minors, in violation of Title 18, United States Code, Section 1470.

If convicted, FALCON-ORTIZ faces up to 10 years’ imprisonment. Assistant United States Attorney (AUSA) Nicholas Cannon and Cristina Caraballo are in charge of the prosecution of FALCON-ORTIZ.

The FBI San Juan Child Exploitation Human Trafficking Task Force with the assistance of the HSI-ICE Puerto Rico Crimes Against Children Task Force are actively investigating this and all cases involving crimes against children in Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
