Arrest of Rhayen Crespo-Garcia for Possession of Child Pornography

SAN JUAN—Special Agent in Charge Carlos Cases of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) San Juan Division announced the arrest of RHAYEN CRESPO-GARCIA. On November 4, 2014, RHAYEN CRESPO-GARCIA was charged with possession of child pornography.

On November 4, FBI special agents and task force officers conducted a search warrant at a residence located in Añasco, Puerto Rico.

As a result of the search, agents identified two computers inside the bedroom of CRESPO-GARCIA, which was located on the first floor of the two-story structure. Agents conducted an on-site preview of both computers and discovered the presence of multiple videos of children under the age of 18 engaging in sexual activities.

If convicted, the defendant faces up to a maximum of 10 years in prison. This case is being prosecuted by Special Assistant United States Attorney Pedro Casablanca and is being investigated by the FBI.

The public is reminded that a criminal complaint contains only charges and is not evidence of guilt. A defendant is presumed to be innocent until and unless proven guilty.

The U.S. government has the burden of proving guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
