FBI San Diego Announces Results of Operation Cross Country XII

Sex Trafficking Operation Leads to Identification/Location of Victims with Support From 10 Partner Agencies

SAN DIEGO – The FBI San Diego Division and the San Diego Human Trafficking Task Force, in partnership with state and local agencies, identified and located at least 17 potential human trafficking victims, including one adolescent, during a nationwide effort, “Operation Cross Country.” The FBI-led initiative focused on identifying and locating victims of sex trafficking and investigating and arresting individuals and criminal enterprises involved in both child sex trafficking and human trafficking.

As part of Operation Cross Country XII, FBI special agents, intelligence analysts, victim specialists, and child adolescent forensic Interviewers working in conjunction with over 200 state, local, and federal partners and the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) conducted operations over the two-week period.

"This year’s operation emphasizes the FBI’s commitment to identifying and locating victims of human trafficking and bringing to justice those who seek to exploit them,” said Special Agent in Charge Stacey Moy of the FBI San Diego Field Office. “We are proud to have worked alongside our law enforcement partners in our efforts against these horrific crimes. The FBI will continue to investigate all human trafficking, as we do each and every day, to ensure the victims receive the resources and assistance they need, and their traffickers are held accountable.”

The FBI San Diego Field Office and the San Diego Human Trafficking Task Force coordinated with multiple law enforcement partners and thanks them for their participation and assistance, including: the San Diego Police Department; San Diego Sheriff’s Department; National City Police Department; San Diego Office of Homeland Security Investigations, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement; San Diego County Probation Department; California Department of Justice; San Diego Unified Police Department; Escondido Police Department; Chula Vista Police Department; and the San Diego County Child Welfare Services, Health & Human Services Agency.
