FBI and San Diego Police Department Seek the Public’s Assistance to Identify North Island Credit Union Robber

The FBI and San Diego Police Department are seeking the public’s assistance to identify the unknown male responsible for robbing the North Island Credit Union located at 10549 Scripps Poway Parkway in San Diego, California, on Friday, December 18, 2015. This robber has been dubbed the “Neatly Groomed Bandit.”

On Friday, December 18, 2015, at approximately 4:33 p.m., the North Island Credit Union located at 10549 Scripps Poway Parkway in San Diego, California, was robbed by an unknown male, hereinafter referred to as the robber. At the time of the robbery, the robber entered the credit union and waited in line until summoned by a teller. Upon arriving at the teller’s station, the robber whispered his demand to the teller. The robber indicated that no one would get hurt as long as the teller complied with the robber’s demands. The robber then presented a demand note written on a manila envelope that demanded specific denominations. After receiving a sum of money, the robber exited the bank.

A review of bank surveillance video revealed the robber arriving in a silver, four-door, mid-sized sedan.

Witnesses describe the robber as follows:

  • Sex: Male
  • Race: White
  • Age: Early 30s
  • Weight: Approximately 180 pounds
  • Height: 6’0” to 6’2” tall
  • Build: Slender to medium
  • Hair: Dark brown hair and a full neatly trimmed beard
  • Eyes: Brown
  • Clothing: Dark three-quarter length coat, maroon scarf, dark jeans, black baseball cap, and dress shoes
