FBI and San Diego Police Department Seek the Public’s Assistance to Identify U.S. Bank Robber

A bank robber wearing aviator-style sunglasses and having a mole above his lip who was wearing a baseball cap with the letters “DTAK” on the inside bill and a burgundy-colored sweat-jacket is being sought in connection with the robbery of the U.S. Bank branch located inside of the Vons grocery store at 620 Dennery Road in San Diego, California.

On Friday, August 8, 2014, at approximately 6:16 p.m., the U.S. Bank branch located inside the Vons grocery store at 620 Dennery Road in San Diego, California, was robbed by an unknown male. At the time of the robbery, the robber entered the grocery store and walked to the area of the bank. The robber approached the victim teller and told the teller he was there to make a withdrawal. The robber then passed a demand note and demanded specific denominations. The robber placed his left hand on his left hip, simulating he had something on his hip. The robber placed the money inside a white envelope and then walked away from the bank and out the store. The robber wore a baseball cap with the image of the state of California flag and a bear on the crown of the baseball cap. The inside bill of the cap had writing that appeared to have the letters “DTAK” on the inside.

Witnesses described the robber as follows:

  • Sex: Male
  • Race: White/Hispanic
  • Height: Approximately 5’6” tall
  • Weight: Approximately 140 pounds
  • Age: Approximately 30 years old
  • Build: Thin
  • Hair: Dark
  • Miscellaneous: Mole above lip on left side
  • Clothing: Burgundy hooded sweat jacket, gray collared shirt, dark pants, aviator sunglasses, and baseball cap
