FBI Seeks Public’s Help in Locating Missing Utah Teen in Mexico
July 13, 2024, update:
Elizabeth Gonzalez and her cousins, Sofia Mailen Moreno Zamora and Regina Moreno Zamora, have been found safe.
At approximately 9:30 p.m. on July 12, 2024, Mexican authorities found the three girls with Antonio Moreno in Veracruz, Mexico.
A federal arrest warrant has been issued for Moreno on charges related to Elizabeth’s disappearance to include kidnapping.
SALT LAKE CITY, UT—The FBI Salt Lake City Field Office is seeking information from the public about a 14-year-old girl who was last seen on June 30, 2024, in Mexico City, Mexico.
Elizabeth “Ely” Gonzalez, who is from Ogden, Utah, was visiting family in Mexico City when she disappeared.
She was last seen wearing dark blue jeans, a black hoodie, and black and white Vans.
Although her whereabouts are unknown, investigators believe she is still in Mexico.
