FBI Sacramento Field Office Hosting Diversity Agent Recruitment Event August 11, 2022

Have you been curious about what it takes to be an FBI Special Agent and if the career path is right for you? The FBI Sacramento Field Office is hosting a Diversity Agent Recruiting event with the FBI’s Human Resources Division to provide attendees with information and the opportunity to ask questions about the FBI special agent career path, the application process, and what the career is really like.

The FBI is committed to fostering diversity and inclusion to better protect the American people. To successfully complete investigation enforcing more than 300 criminal and national security-related federal statutes, the FBI needs special agents who represent diverse cultures, perspectives, and professional backgrounds. Special agents bring their skills, compassion, and integrity to stay ahead of threats, uphold the law, defend civil rights, and protect innocent people. They seek out cybercrime, infiltrate organized crime rings, and investigate terrorists.

“The Diversity Agent Recruiting events enable us to connect prospective special agents and help them better understand what they can contribute to the FBI, navigate the hiring process, and be more competitive during the hiring process. We will also dispel some myths about the FBI application process. For example, the idea that we only hire individuals with backgrounds in criminal justice, psychology, or law is false,” said Assistant Special Agent in Charge Jon Snow. “The FBI has been aggressively recruiting individuals with educational and professional backgrounds in science, technology, engineering, math (including accounting), and more. We need our nation’s best and brightest who are also representative of our nation's vast cultural, professional, and perspective diversity.”

At the August 11 event, local FBI special agents will share their personal experiences to offer insight and inspiration. Additionally, the special agent applicant coordinator and physical fitness advisors will provide vital information to help prospective special agent applicants prepare for and be more successful during the Special Agent Selection System (SASS), a multi-step process designed to find individuals who will be successful in this job.

Anyone interested in the event may apply by visiting the FBI’s Diversity Equity and Inclusion page and selecting the Sacramento event listed under “Our Initiatives” to obtain more information. Space is limited at this event. Invitations will be sent to qualified candidates with additional details.
