FBI Richmond Partners with the Roanoke City Police Department to Investigate Armed Bank Robbery
The FBI Richmond Roanoke Resident Agency’s Safe Streets Task Force is working with the Roanoke City Police Department to investigate two bank robberies that occurred in October 2022.
On October 26, 2022, an unknown black male subject, armed with a gun, entered the Truist Bank located in the 2200 block of Melrose Avenue, Northwest, in Roanoke, Virginia, and demanded money from the victim teller. Once the victim teller complied with his demands, the subject placed the money into a light-blue drawstring bag and exited the bank on foot.
At the time of the October 26, 2022, robbery, the subject wore a bright orange beanie; thin-framed glasses; a mask; a black bomber-style jacket over a dark-green hoodie; black shoes; and black, gray, and white sweatpants with an “ECKO” logo.
Investigators believe the same subject committed another robbery days later, on October 28, of the Truist Bank located in the 100 block of McClanahan Street, Southwest, in Roanoke. During this robbery, the subject once again approached the victim teller, demanded money, and placed the money in a purple bag before exiting the bank on foot.
During the October 28, 2022, robbery, the subject wore a tan/brownish colored toboggan/beanie, glasses, a mask, a black zippered jacket over a gray hoodie, gloves, black boots, and gray sweatpants with distinguishing black/blue side “cargo pockets”.
This individual should be considered armed and dangerous. A Wanted By The FBI poster has been placed on the FBI’s webpage.
