Emergency Preparedness Exercise at Kings Dominion
On Wednesday, October 25, 2017, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, along with many of our state and local partners, will be conducting an emergency preparedness exercise on the grounds of Kings Dominion in Doswell, Virginia.
The exercise will be an all-day event designed to provide participating agencies the opportunity to examine their individual departmental responses and capabilities, but also to practice interagency coordination.
During this all-day event, there will be no public access to Kings Dominion.
The public will see an increased presence of law enforcement vehicles and personnel in the area, to include hazardous material and fire trucks. Loud noises, to include that of simulated gunfire, may also be heard throughout the afternoon hours. Vehicular movement should not be impacted, nor should the community be alarmed by the increased presence of law enforcement. Digital road signs and a Code Red will be issued by the Hanover County Sheriff’s Office to remind commuters of the exercise.
