FBI Seeks Information on Fugitive Charged in Homicide

The FBI is asking for the public’s help to locate homicide suspect Yancy Wade Ray, age 50, who may be staying in the Portland area. On Thursday, September 8, 2016, the FBI obtained a federal fugitive warrant for Ray on behalf of the Tacoma Police Department. Ray has been charged with murder in the second degree and unlawful possession of a firearm in the first degree in relation to a weekend death investigation. 

Yancy Wade Ray is a black male, 6'2” tall and 175 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes. He is known to use the street name “Slim” and the alias “Yancy Grayson." He has ties to the Tacoma, Washington area, as well as to Portland, Oregon.

Ray should be considered armed and dangerous. If you come in contact with Ray, call 911. Otherwise, non-urgent tips should be directed to Crime Stoppers of Tacoma/Pierce County at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).

Crime Stoppers of Tacoma/Pierce County, a non-governmental organization, is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to the arrest and charge of the person involved in this case. The FBI has no involvement in the administration of this reward or any of its governing terms and conditions. However, to be eligible for the reward, the information must be provided through Crime Stoppers. Callers to Crime Stoppers will remain anonymous.
