Public’s Help Needed Identifying Bank Robber Who Hit Two Times Today

The FBI, the Marion County Sheriff’s Office, and the Eugene Police Department are requesting the public’s help in identifying and locating the man responsible for two robberies today. The first happened inside a Wells Fargo Bank the morning of October 16. The man walked into the bank branch inside a Safeway located at 3380 Lancaster Drive NE in Salem at approximately 10:10 a.m.

The second robbery happened at 1:48 p.m., when the same man is believed to have walked into the Umpqua Bank branch located at 1175 Valley River Drive in Eugene. In both cases, he approached the teller desk, demanded cash, received an undisclosed amount of money, and left.

Witnesses describe the suspect as:

  • White man
  • Age: Late 30s to mid-40s
  • Height: 6’0” to 6’2”
  • Weight: 200 pounds
  • Build: Medium
  • Eyes: Brown
  • Hair: Short stubble, possibly graying

In the first robbery, the suspect was wearing a black, zip-up long-sleeved shirt or jacket with two white stripes and a Michael Jordan logo over the left chest. In the second robbery, he was wearing a black sweatshirt with red print. In both robberies, he was wearing blue tennis shoes and black basketball shorts with a red triangle and white stripes. The suspect wears gold wire-rimmed glasses.
