'Razzmatazz Robber' Identified and Arrested
Man Charged with Multiple Robberies in Phoenix Area
PHOENIX, AZ—An alleged serial bank robber nicknamed the “Razzmatazz Robber” has been arrested. On Wednesday, March 23, 2022, the FBI Violent Crimes Task Force arrested Andres Murrietta, 41, without incident following a robbery at the SunWest Credit Union, 1253 South Gilbert Road, in Mesa.
Murrietta faces charges in connection with four bank robberies throughout the Valley, including:
- November 1, 2021, OneAZ Credit Union, 2277 West Guadalupe Road, Gilbert, Arizona
- November 30, 2021, First Bank, 2025 North Alma School Road, Chandler, Arizona
- December 28, 2021, AlaskaUSA Federal Credit Union, 4330 East Juanita Avenue, Mesa, Arizona
- March 23, 2022, SunWest Credit Union, 1253 South Gilbert Road, Mesa, Ariona
In each instance, Murrietta would enter the bank, produce a robbery demand note and a paper bag for the money. He would also drive a vehicle that resembled the color of the Crayola crayon known as razzmatazz.
No one was physically injured during the bank robberies.

Murrietta has been charged in a federal criminal complaint. A complaint is only an accusation, and a defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
