Robbery of Republic Bank Branch in Philadelphia Today

The Philadelphia Police Department and the FBI are seeking the public’s assistance to identify and locate the subject responsible for the robbery today of the Republic Bank branch located at 1601 Walnut Street.

At approximately 10 a.m., the subject entered the bank and handed a teller a demand note. After obtaining an undisclosed amount of cash, the subject fled on foot; he was last seen heading south on 16th toward Walnut.

The subject is described as a white male approximately 30-40 years old and 5’9” tall, thin build, with a mustache. He wore a black hooded sweatshirt, silver shorts, green Eagles cap and sunglasses, and carried a bluish-gray backpack with black and green trim.

This subject is considered armed and dangerous. Anyone with information about this robbery or this subject is urged to call the FBI at 215-418-4000 or the Philadelphia Police Department. There may be a reward for information leading to this subject’s capture; tipsters can remain anonymous.
