Mikel Smith, 25, of Philadelphia, PA, was charged today by information[i] with robbery which interfered with interstate commerce for the armed robbery on November 16, 2014 of approximately $400 from the Dunkin Donuts, located at 717 East Girard Avenue, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; announced United States Attorney Zane David Memeger. Defendants brandished a handgun during each of the four robberies. Smith is also charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

If convicted of the charge, defendant faces a maximum sentence of 20 years’ imprisonment, a maximum period of supervised release of three years, a substantial fine, a special assessment, and restitution.

This case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Philadelphia Police Department, and the Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office, and is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Ewald Zittlau.
