Armed Robbery Attempt at Wells Fargo Bank Branch in Pottstown

The Pottstown Police Department and the FBI are seeking the public’s assistance to identify and locate the subject responsible for the attempted armed robbery on May 31 of the Wells Fargo Bank branch located at 1470 East High Street in Pottstown, Pennsylvania.

At approximately 9:15 a.m., the subject entered the bank. He displayed a handgun, made verbal threats, and demanded money. In the course of the attempted robbery, he fired several shots into the ceiling and at the bulletproof divider protecting the tellers. No one was physically injured. The subject eventually fled empty-handed, leaving the west side of the building on foot.

The subject is described as a black male, 20-30 years of age, approximately 6’0” tall, and 200 pounds. He wore a dark-colored Phillies baseball cap, a dark-colored zip-up jacket, and gloves. His weapon was a black .380 semi-automatic pistol.

Wells Fargo Bank is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to his identification, arrest, and conviction.
