FBI Arrests Man Accused of Robbing Ada, Oklahoma Bank
The FBI has made a probable cause arrest of Matthew Pettigrew, 40, of Ada, Oklahoma, on a federal charge of bank robbery.
FBI special agents, with the assistance of the Ada Police Department, Pontotoc County Sheriff’s Office, and Seminole Nation Lighthorse Police Department, arrested Pettigrew in Konawa, Oklahoma, on Tuesday November 16, 2021.
Pettigrew is accused of using a demand note to rob Citizens Bank of Ada, 1419 North Country Club Road, at approximately 6:05 p.m. on Monday, November 15, 2021.
“The FBI would like to thank our law enforcement partners for helping us apprehend this suspect,” said acting Special Agent in Charge Alvin Winston of the Oklahoma City FBI Division. “By working together, we will help keep our communities safe and send a message that crimes such as bank robberies will not be tolerated.”
Pettigrew is expected to have an initial appearance in U.S. District Court in Oklahoma City at a date yet to be scheduled.
The public is reminded all defendants are considered innocent unless convicted in a court of law.
