FBI Norfolk to Host Diversity Agent Recruitment (DAR) Event
Application Deadline Approaching for Interested Candidates
(Norfolk) The FBI’s Norfolk Division will host an in-person recruiting event on May 22, 2024, to encourage talented individuals from underrepresented communities to explore the unique and fulfilling career opportunities available within the FBI.
The Diversity Agent Recruitment event, also known as DAR, will be held from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. in Chesapeake, and is an invitation-only information session that will feature both panel discussions and networking opportunities with a variety of FBI Special Agents who can provide prospective candidates with a better understanding of the Special Agent application process, qualification requirements, and physical fitness standards. The DAR is also a unique opportunity for attendees to hear firsthand the personal experiences of FBI special agents about what it’s like to work in their respective career fields.
The FBI designed the DAR events to attract applicants with various background and to increase the diversity of the FBI’s special agent workforce.
Applicants for the Special Agent position must be between the ages of 23 and 36, have one to two years of full-time work experience, and hold a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university. No law enforcement or military experience is required, and applicants from various backgrounds will be considered.
