U.S. Marshals Arrest Child Pornographer and Registered Sex Offender Jason Matthew Zeller in Florida

NEW ORLEANS—On January 7, 2019, wanted fugitive and registered sex offender Jason Matthew Zeller was arrested in Altamonte Springs, Florida, by the U.S. Marshals Service.

Acting on an anonymous tip provided by Crimestoppers Greater New Orleans indicating Zeller’s whereabouts in Altamonte Springs, Florida, U.S. Marshals - Eastern District of Louisiana and U.S. Marshals - Middle District of Florida located and apprehended Zeller at approximately 2:00 p.m. on Monday, January 7.

Pursuant to an arrest warrant issued the 24th Judicial District Court – Parish of Jefferson, Louisiana, Jason Matthew Zeller, a.k.a. “Matthew Zeller,” of Metairie, Louisiana, was taken into custody by the U.S. Marshals Office without incident and charged with the following:

  • Two counts of 14:81.1 (E)(5)(A) – Pornography involving juveniles under age of 13
  • Two counts of 14:81.3 – Computer-aided solicitation of a minor
  • One count of 14:91.5 – Unlawful use of a social networking website

FBI New Orleans Special Agent in Charge Eric J. Rommal praised the great work of the U.S. Marshals Service, the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office, the Central Florida Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, FBI New Orleans Child Exploitation Task Force, Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office, and Crimestoppers Greater New Orleans for their collaboration and support throughout the investigation and bringing Matthew Zeller to justice.

The allegations contained in this release and related warrant are merely accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
