On Thursday, December 3, 2015, at approximately 7:50 a.m., Jacob Israel Chox was arrested by the FBI New Orleans Division’s Violent Crimes Against Children Task Force on a Michigan kidnapping charge.

After several weeks of surveillance operations, FBI New Orleans Division’s Violent Crimes Against Children Task Force arrested Jacob Israel Chox, a Hispanic male (March 31, 2994), outside a Mid-City home. Today’s arrest is part of an ongoing investigation involving the New Orleans, Houston, and Detroit FBI Field Offices; the St. Joseph FBI RA Office; the Covert Township Police Department; the New Orleans Police Department; and the Michigan State Police.

Since its inception in 2001, the FBI New Orleans Division’s Violent Crimes Against Children Task Force has helped rescue minors that were victims of child exploitation and human sex trafficking and used arrests and search warrants to discover hundreds of thousands of child pornography images and videos. This FBI led task force is composed of federal, state, and local law enforcement officers who conduct covert operations to identify minors being used in the sex trafficking industry and bring the offenders to justice.
