Fidelity Bank Robber Arrested in Shreveport/Bossier Area

NEW ORLEANS—FBI New Orleans Field Office Special Agent in Charge Jeffrey S. Sallet announced the arrest of Eddie James for his alleged involvement in the robbery of Fidelity Bank, 1201 S. Carrollton Avenue, New Orleans, Louisiana.

On Thursday, November 2, 2017, at approximately 10:05 a.m., 40-year-old Eddie James from New Orleans, entered the Fidelity Bank, approached the teller counter and passed a demand note. After obtaining an undisclosed amount of U.S. currency, he fled on foot.

Today, November 3, 2017, James was taken into custody by the Louisiana State Police in the Shreveport/Bossier City area without incident.

This investigation was jointly coordinated by the FBI New Orleans Violent Crime Task Force and the New Orleans Police Department. This matter is being prosecuted by the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Louisiana.

The allegations contained in this release and related complaint is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
