FBI Hosts a Diversity Recruitment Event During Essence Festival

NEW ORLEANS—On Friday, June 30, 2017, Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Headquarters staff from Washington D.C., as well as human resources personnel from the FBI New Orleans Field Office, will be on-hand at this year’s Essence Festival in order to promote diversity employment opportunities.

Under a unique hiring program, the FBI will be hosting a Diversity Recruitment Event (DRE) to coincide with Essence Festival in New Orleans and advertise both FBI special agent and professional staff careers available throughout the Bureau. FBI recruiters and human resource personnel will be present to greet festival attendees and anyone else interested in pursuing a career as an FBI employee.

To help facilitate visitors and encourage as many applicants as possible to engage FBI recruiters, two FBI recruitment station have been established

  • FBI recruiters will be hosting three diversity recruitment sessions at the New Orleans Downtown Marriott—Convention Center, 859 Convention Center Blvd., New Orleans, LA 70130. Three recruitment sessions will be held on Friday, June 30, 2017 at 10:00 a.m., 12:00 p.m., and 2:00 p.m., inside Blaine Kern Ballrooms A & B. These FBI recruitment sessions are both free and open to the public. Inspiring FBI candidates need no special badges or passes for admission; however, it is helpful if you have an updated copy of your resume to share with FBI recruiters
  • An FBI booth will also be setup inside the New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center on Friday, June 30th through Sunday, July 2nd.
