Brinks Armored Car Company Offers $10,000 Reward for Information on Robbery

On Sunday, October 11, 2015, at approximately 11:55 a.m., a Brinks armored car was robbed at the JP Morgan Chase Bank branch located at 1425 North Broad Street by two unidentified male individuals.

The armored car was servicing the automated teller machines (ATMs) at the Chase Bank when two armed men approached the Brinks employees and demanded money.

It was discovered that the robbers previously cut a hole through the wood fence between the JP Morgan Chase Bank and a neighboring business. After taking an undisclosed amount of money, the robbers fled back through the hole in the fence and ran towards Lepage Street. The robbers then ran through an alley way and ultimately entered an older model GMC Yukon, possible early 2000s model, that was parked on Bayou Road. The robbers were last seen fleeing the area by driving north bound on Bayou Road.

The New Orleans Federal Bureau of Investigation is working with the New Orleans Police Department to solve this robbery. Brinks Inc. is offering a $10,000 reward to anyone providing information that leads to the arrest of the robbers. The $10,000 Brinks reward is good 10 days, beginning October 29. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Federal Bureau of Investigation at (504) 816-3000.
