Minneapolis FBI Division to Host Diversity Agent Recruitment Event

As part of the FBI’s commitment to attract and recruit a highly skilled and more diverse workforce, the Minneapolis Field Office is hosting a Diversity Agent Recruitment (DAR) event on August 2, 2018. The DAR event is part of a nationwide initiative aimed at reaching applicants with a variety of backgrounds to more fully diversify the FBI. The event is invitation-only and interested parties must apply through the FBI website to be considered.

Invited applicants will hear from current FBI leaders and special agents who will be on-hand to discuss the many available career paths. Threats have become increasingly complex and global, and the FBI needs individuals with a wide variety of backgrounds and knowledge of cultures and languages to better understand and engage the diverse public we serve. This, in turn, enables us to effectively investigate national security and criminal threats, while preserving civil liberties.

“The Twin Cities is increasingly becoming a more culturally diverse area, and we are always seeking to have an FBI that reflects the communities from throughout the Twin Cities, greater Minnesota, and the Dakotas,” said Jill Sanborn, special agent in charge of the Minneapolis Division of the FBI. “The work of protecting the American people and upholding the Constitution is a highly challenging but rewarding way to serve your country and your community, and I’m hoping that those who join us on August 2 will see why the joining the FBI is truly a career like no other.”

This recruiting campaign seeks U.S. citizens between 23-36 years of age who have earned, at a minimum, a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution and have three or more years of work experience.

In order to attend this invitation-only event, interested candidates must apply online at fbijobs.gov.
